Amazon just opened a new store that sells items rated 4 stars and above from its website. Here's what it looks like inside
On Thursday morning, Amazon opened it first 4 star-store which sells only products that are rated four stars and above that are trending on Amazon.com. The shop, in Lower Manhattan, features a wide variety of objects, including highly rated books.
“We’re always looking for more ways to engage our customers. A lot of customers like to shop online, but they also like to shop in stores,” said Cameron Janes, Amazon’s vice president for physical retail.
While Amazon's initiative is new for the company; (excluding their failed attempts to get into retail in the past), Walmart and Macy's and, frankly, Barnes & Noble, have been doing this for a while. The concept of having a space with the most popular products in a brick and mortar style is something that's been around for sometime.
What's Amazon's competitive advantage against its competitors? Well, their customer reviews next to products, discounts for Prime members, a table featuring products that show up on a lot of Amazon users' wish lists--all features prevalent at Amazon Books locations that Amazon seems keen to bring to physical retail at large.
Simply put, all the products you wish for will be available at one space to be viewed and bought with the added convenience of delivery if you so desire.
The store is located at 72 Spring St.
The Home and Kitchen section
